Christmas Events in Las Vegas off the Strip: Are you looking for Christmas Events to enjoy off the Las Vegas Strip? There are so many things to do in Las Vegas in December, you are sure to get in the holiday spirit dreaming about a Las Vegas Christmas.

 

Things to do in Las Vegas in December are plentiful but few cities beat Las Vegas for Christmas, especially with kids. There are so many Las Vegas Christmas events and experiences to enjoy, both off and on The Strip, that it is no wonder that Vegas is a top holiday destination.

 

Here is a list of my top 10 must see attractions and events happening all over town off the Las Vegas strip.

 

  1. Glittering Lights Display

Holiday festivities in Las Vegas begin as Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway welcomes thousands of annual visitors to take a 2.5-mile drive through the light course nightly from now until January 8, 2023.

 

Glittering Lights is presented by Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing is open for the holiday season. Get your tickets at glitteringlightsvegas.com or pay at the gate!

 

The hours of operation are Sunday – Thursday 5:00 P.M.- 9:00 P.M. and Friday – Saturday from 5:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M.

 

One ticket needed per car, per entry

Season Tickets are $129

Glittering Lights

  1. Magical Forest at Opportunity Village

Celebrate the holidays with a cherished Southern Nevada tradition – the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village! This year, the Magical Forest will celebrate its 31st season of being open to the public. Days opened are Dec 1-4, Dec 8-11 and Dec 15-21, but closed on Christmas Day. Open those days from 5:30 to 9 P.M.

 

The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland filled with millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, delicious food and endless holiday cheer. The best part is, every dollar spent at the Magical Forest goes towards programs and services for over 3,000 people with disabilities at Opportunity Village.

Visits with Santa will be available on the dates and times listed below, photos will cost $25 from 5:30 – 9:00 P.M. November 27, December 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, & 22.

Magical Forest Opportunity Village

  1. Enchant Christmas

Enchant Christmas is the world’s largest Christmas light maze and village. Experience a world of adventure with awe-inspiring animated light sculptures, and discover the charming Village offering ice-skating, live entertainment, interactive games, dining, holiday shopping, Santa & Mrs. Claus, and so much more.

 

Enchant Christmas has two locations to choose from for holiday fun, the Las Vegas Ballpark and Resorts World Las Vegas and is open now until Jan 1.

 

Las Vegas Ballpark: Tickets starting at $34 for adults and $20 for children. Ice skating is a timed entry and are $18 per person for all ages. Hours of operation can be found on the Enchant Christmas website.

 

Resorts World: Tickets starting at $44 for adults and $23 for children. Ice skating is a timed entry and are $25 per person for all ages. Hours of operation can be found on the Enchant Christmas website.

Enchant Christmas

  1. Ethel M’s Holiday Cactus Garden

For 29 years, Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory has decorated their 3-acre cactus garden for the holidays with over one million lights for the public to enjoy!

 

This ‘gem in the desert’ is lit up every night from 5 pm to 10 pm and open to the public now through January 1, 2023, but closed on Christmas Day.

 

This year, a $1 entrance fee per person is required and will be donated to Help of Southern Nevada and Three Square Food Bank.

 

Grab your camera and your friends and come enjoy a holiday experience in the desert like no other!

In addition to the Cactus Garden, kids of all ages will love their time here!

  • Santa Claus will be in the garden nightly through December 23.
  • Food trucks for dinner and dessert
  • Outdoor movie theater playing classic holiday clips that are kid friendly

  1. Santa’s Wonderland at the Bass Pro Shops

Every year Santa’s Wonderland transforms Bass Pro Shops into an immersive holiday experience with rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees.

 

The highlight of Bass Pro Shops Santa’s Wonderland is a visit with the big guy himself. Families visiting Santa Claus receive a free 4 x 6 studio-quality photo and a custom Christmas video to share online with family and friends. Guests can schedule their Santa time using the free Bass Pass system.

  1. Scuba Santa at the Silverton Aquarium

People of all ages can visit the Silverton’s Underwater Santa on Saturdays and Sundays in December and tell Santa what they want for Christmas.

 

The aquarium is free to the public. Bring the kids and take lots of pictures of the Underwater Santa and his elves. Santa is equipped with a microphone that allows him to listen to and speak with children.

Sessions are from noon to 1:15 P.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. The last performance will be on December 23.

Scuba Santa at the Silverton Aquarium

  1. Las Vegas Great Santa Run – December 3

Each year, the Las Vegas Great Santa Run attracts thousands of runners and walkers from all over the world to Downtown Las Vegas.

 

In addition to being the most fun you’ll ever have to wear a five-piece Santa suit, this event is one of Opportunity Village’s most important fundraisers, with all proceeds benefiting the programs and services for over 3,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southern Nevada.

 

This event will start at the Fremont Street Experience – 3rd Street Stage at 8 AM.

Las Vegas Great Santa Run

  1. Wrangler National Finals Rodeo – December 1-10

The Wrangler NFR will be held at the Thomas & Mac Center from December 1 to 10. NFR is the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the world and an event like no other, an extravaganza for fans to enjoy the roping and riding activity of today’s cowboys.

 

It is the culmination of the rodeo season where the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding compete to take home top honors and their share of a multi-million dollar purse.

The 35th anniversary of the Roper Cowboy Christmas takes place at Las Vegas Convention Center South Halls during the National Finals Rodeo from December 1-10. This has been a Las Vegas tradition since 1986.

 

The Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas features more than 500,000 square feet of show floor and more than 350+ exhibitors from across the United States. Hundreds of Western Lifestyle Exhibitors in one place. You’ll find boots, buckets, hats, jewelry, and western wear.

 

Admission to the exhibit is FREE. Hours are 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. There will be hundreds of exhibitors to see some great products. You’ll also see some live demonstrations, free entertainment, and meet your favorite NFR superstars.

The Stetson Country Christmas Western Gift Expo is where the REAL Cowboys and Cowgirls shop in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo from December 1-11. Covering the entire Convention space at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino, you’ll find everything you need for everyone on your Western Lifestyle Christmas Shopping List

 

The show hours are 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. daily. Admission to the exhibit is FREE.
