Things to do in Las Vegas in December are plentiful but few cities beat Las Vegas for Christmas, especially with kids. There are so many Las Vegas Christmas events and experiences to enjoy, both off and on The Strip, that it is no wonder that Vegas is a top holiday destination.

 

Here is a list of my top 10 must see attractions and events happening all over town:

 

  1. Cowboy Christmas

The 36th anniversary of the Roper Cowboy Christmas takes place at Las Vegas Convention Center South Halls during the National Finals Rodeo from December 7-16. This has been a Las Vegas tradition since 1986.

 

The Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas features more than 500,000 square feet of show floor and more than 350+ exhibitors from across the United States. Hundreds of Western Lifestyle Exhibitors in one place. You’ll find boots, buckets, hats, jewelry, and western wear.

 

Admission to the exhibit is FREE. Hours are 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. daily. There will be hundreds of exhibitors to see some great products. You’ll also see some live demonstrations, free entertainment, and meet your favorite NFR superstars.

Cowboy Christmas

 

  1. Enchant Christmas

Enchant Christmas is a holiday-themed light experience at the Las Vegas Ballpark. It is the world’s largest Christmas light maze and village with over 4 million lights. Experience a world of adventure with awe-inspiring animated light sculptures, and discover the charming Village offering ice-skating, live entertainment, interactive games, dining, holiday shopping, Santa & Mrs. Claus, and so much more.

 

Enchant Christmas is presented by the Hallmark Channel and is open now until December 31. Tickets starting at $34 for adults and $25 for children. Ice skating is a timed entry and are $18 per person for all ages. Hours of operation can be found on the Enchant Christmas website.

  1. Ethel M’s Holiday Cactus Garden

For 30 years, Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory has decorated their 3-acre cactus garden for the holidays with over one million lights and Holiday décor for the public to enjoy!

 

This ‘gem in the desert’ is lit up every night from 5 P.M. to 10 P.M. and open to the public now through December 31, 2023, but closed on Christmas Day.

 

You can take pictures with Santa, enjoy their famous hot chocolate, and grab a quick bite from food trucks.

  1. Glittering Lights Display

Glittering Lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a drive-thru Christmas light experience. It’s Nevada’s biggest holiday drive-thru light show, with over 5 million+ LED lights along a 2.5-mile course. Open nightly from now until January 7, 2023.

 

The hours of operation are:

Sunday – Thursday: 4:30 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.

Friday & Saturday: 4:30 P.M. – 10:00 P.M.

Glittering Lights Display

 

  1. Las Vegas Great Santa Run 

Each year, the Las Vegas Great Santa Run attracts thousands of runners and walkers from all over the world to Downtown Las Vegas. This year it will be held on December 2, 2023.

 

In addition to being the most fun you’ll ever have to wear a five-piece Santa suit, this event is one of Opportunity Village’s most important fundraisers, with all proceeds benefiting the programs and services for over 3,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southern Nevada.

 

This event will start at the Down Las Vegas Events Center at 200 S. 3rd Street Stage at 8 A.M.

  1. Magical Forest at Opportunity Village

Celebrate the holidays with a cherished Southern Nevada tradition – the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village! This year, the Magical Forest will celebrate its 32nd season of being open to the public.

 

The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland filled with millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, delicious food and endless holiday cheer. The best part is, every dollar spent at the Magical Forest goes towards programs and services for over 3,000 people with disabilities at Opportunity Village.

 

The Magical Forest is a festive, all-ages theme park in Las Vegas. It is an outdoor event so be sure to dress warmly.

 

Days opened are Nov 30-Dec 3, Dec 7-10 and Dec 14-31, but closed on Christmas Day.

Pack the crew in the car and sip some hot cocoa as you merrily cruise through this mile-long holiday attraction featuring millions of LED lights and hundreds of moving displays. Boasted as the world’s largest animated drive-through light show, Rockin’ Christmas runs from now until December 31.

Every year Santa’s Wonderland transforms Bass Pro Shops into an immersive holiday experience with rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees.

 

The highlight of Bass Pro Shops Santa’s Wonderland is a visit with the big guy himself. Families visiting Santa Claus receive a free 4 x 6 studio-quality photo and a custom Christmas video to share online with family and friends. Guests can schedule their Santa time using the free Bass Pass system.

  1. Scuba Santa at the Silverton Aquarium

People of all ages can visit the Silverton’s Underwater Santa on Saturdays and Sundays in December and tell Santa what they want for Christmas.

 

The aquarium is free to the public. Bring the kids and take lots of pictures of the Underwater Santa and his elves. Santa is equipped with a microphone that allows him to listen to and speak with children.

 

Sessions are from noon to 1:15 P.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. The last performance will be on December 23.

The Stetson Country Christmas Western Gift Expo is where the REAL Cowboys and Cowgirls shop in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo from December 7-17. Covering the entire Convention space at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino, you’ll find everything you need for everyone on your Western Lifestyle Christmas Shopping List

 

The show hours are 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. daily. Admission to the exhibit is FREE.
