May is your last chance to enjoy some easy weather before the triple-digit heat of summer fully kicks in. The month is full of culinary festivals and big events.

Tourists flock to Vegas for the Electric Daisy Carnival, Cinco de Mayo and Memorial Day Weekend. If you can handle the crowds and above-average prices, you’ll have a great time.

There is so much happening here in Las Vegas for the Month of May, but here are our top 10 events you do not want to miss out on.

 

#1 Indian Food & Cultural Festival

This annual event will be held on May 4th.  Doors 12:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM. This event is all ages. The Las Vegas Indian food and Cultural Festival is a culmination of food, culture, shopping, family, fun and entertainment. A number of local venders come out to immerse you into the Indian culture.

It’s also a celebration of Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage. The festival celebrates the unique diversity of Indian traditions and culture in an ambiance, created to represent the ethos of India.

#2 Monster Energy Cup

Monster Energy Cup returns to Sam Boyd Stadium on May 4that 6:30 PM. Where the world’s top Supercross Riders will race head to-head in a battle for the coveted MONSTER ENERGY CUP and the chance to win a million dollars.

With a $1,000,000 up for the taking – and with the world’s best riders all expected to attend – the Monster Energy Cup will be a race no one will want to miss!

#3 2019 Cinco De Mayo Fremont Street Bar Crawl 

This Cinco De Mayo Bar Crawl in Las Vegas is self-guided. Run around from bar to bar in Downtown Las Vegas, partaking in EPIC drink specials from a variety of venues!

On May 5th you will check in at MICKIE FINNZ (located at Fremont St and Las Vegas Blvd) between 12pm – 5pm, where they will provide you with a map, a wristband, and then you’re off!Participating locations will be marked on the map along with all the different drink specials! Downtown Las Vegas isn’t ready for this fiesta!

Fremont Street is five blocks of pure entertainment, with an amazing mix of bars, restaurants, casinos and of course the massive Visa Vision LED screen.

#4 Las Vegas Days Rodeo & Helldorado Parade

The Las Vegas Days Rodeo will be on Friday, May 10th – Saturday, May 11th, 2019, starting at 5:00 pm each night. This Las Vegas rodeo is held at the all new Core Arena which is an Outdoor Arena with expo stalls located on-site just steps away from the Plaza Hotel.

Formerly known as Helldorado Days, the annual cowboy-themed event celebrating Las Vegas’ tribute to the Wild West. The Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial is sponsoring the rodeo, along with The Plaza Hotel & Casino.

The rodeo will feature seven events: bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding.

The 2019 Helldorado Parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11. The parade is always held downtown along the Fourth Street parade route from Gass Avenue to Stewart Avenues and is a wonderful family event.

#5 Las Vegas Asian Cultural Tourism Festival

The Asian Cultural Tourism Festival will be held in downtown Summerlin on May 10 – 12 from 10:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. each day and admission is FREE!

This event will be held in the form of exhibitions, bringing many wonderful themes, including Chinese and American tourist cities, scenic spots, world heritage and intangible cultural heritage (traditional handicraft, music, dance, works of art), to the United States in Las Vegas.

During the event, Asian Tourism Commodities and Food Festival will be held at the same time. Food vendors from the United States and Asia will show their spectators wonderful and unique cooking skills.

#6 Brews and Blues Festival

The Brews and Blues Festival returns to the Springs Preserve Saturday, May 11th from 4-8 PM. Kick off summer with hot blues, cold beer and tasty grub at Spring’s Preserve’s 10th annual Brews & Blues Festival.

This adults-only event features unlimited samples of micro-brews and live music from a variety of blues bands. Guests will receive a commemorative mug for unlimited tastings from a large selection of beers from local, regional, national and international brewers.

Participating breweries include Brooklyn Brewery, Funkwerks, 21st Amendment, Asahi, Constellation Beer and many more to be announced. Vendors will also have plenty of tasty food options for purchase.

Advance tickets are just $35 each; VIP admission is $75 and includes access to an indoor, air-conditioned lounge and a reserved outdoor patio with a view of the amphitheater stage, a complimentary meal provided by Divine Cafe, and exclusive beer options.

#7 Art Festival of Henderson

This festival returns as it showcases art from some of the region’s best artisans along with hours of live entertainment, you will not want to miss this event at the Henderson Events Plaza and Convention Center

This event is on May 11th – 12th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Shop for unique art, watch live demonstrations or paint your own masterpiece. They will have a colorful display of chalk art creations plus food, live entertainment and an interactive area just for kids. Admission and parking is free.

#8 Electric Daisy Carnival

The EDC returns to Vegas on May 17 – 19, for another year of late night to early morning dancing. Come join 100,000 of your closest friends (you’ve just not met them yet).

The event takes place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and is HUGE!! Come well rested as this party starts in the evening and goes well into the morning every day of the event (usually ending around 6:00 – 7:00 A.M.).

You should make your room reservations early, as rooms will get expensive the longer you wait. Also, tickets are about 95% sold out!

#9 Springs Preserve Ice Cream Festival

Sweet treats and yummy eats will be on the menu as The Springs Preserve hosts its annual all-you-can-eat Ice Cream Festival on May 18th from 10 am to 4 pm

The family-friendly event will feature stations serving ice cream sundaes, novelties, floats, and ice cream cones with fun for all ages including live entertainment, face painting, storytelling, superhero training, carnival games, crafts, an ice cream eating contest, and more.

Tickets are Adult/Child $10.00/$8.00 (Non-Members) & $9.00/$7.00 (Members). It is recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance to avoid a sell-out risk.

#10 15th Annual Best Dam Barbecue Challenge

The Best Dam Barbecue Challenge returns to cook up a storm in nearby Boulder City, Nevada at Nevada’s Historic Bicentennial Park (just 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip and 15 minutes from Hoover Dam.)

This is a professional barbecue competition and admission is free. There will be barbecue and festival food, vendors, a family fun zone, the Best Dam Car Show, musical entertainment, and a Police VS. Firefighters Rib-Eating Contest.

The Best Dam Barbecue Challenge is held each Memorial Day Weekend – so mark your calendars for our 2019 event on Friday, May 24th from 4pm – 10pm and Saturday, May 25th from 9am – 6pm!
