Christmas Events in Las Vegas: Let’s face it, Las Vegas is known for doing everything big. Christmas is no exception. The holiday season is actually a great time to visit Las Vegas or if you are a local, there is so many fun things to enjoy with your family.
Things to do in Las Vegas in December are plentiful but few cities beat Las Vegas for Christmas, especially with kids.
From now until the end of the year, we’ve got everything covered in Vegas. So, check out what to do between shopping for gifts, snacking on candy canes, and getting stuck in holiday traffic.
Here is a list of my top 15 must see attractions and events happening all over town. The first 9 Events in December are happening all month long.
Enjoy the 2.5 MILES of Christmas lights and displays, that over 1 million people have seen the displays in the 13 years they’ve been in operation.
Admission is only $20/vehicle (Monday – Thursday) and $30/vehicle (Friday – Sunday, Holidays and December 19 – January 2).
Also available this year is a season pass for $75.00. Special discounts available, but you’ll need to check their calendar for availability.
They will also have a Santa Tram driven by Silver State School Credit Union available for $20.00 – $25.00 per person.
The hours of operation are Sunday – Thursday 5:30 P.M.- 9:00 P.M. and Friday – Saturday from 5:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M.

The Boulevard Pool at Cosmopolitan is transformed into an ice-skating rink. You’ll enjoy the brisk temperatures, fire pits, s’mores, warm cocktails, and ice skating with family and friends.
Returning this year is the addition of Snow Days featuring snow showers every 30 minutes at the rink during select times of the season.
Tickets are $20.00 for All Day Access, $10.00 All Day Access for Local Residents or Hotel Guests (Monday – Thursday), $10.00 Skating Aid Rental Fee.
The Rink is open Monday – Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to Midnight, Friday – Sunday from 12:00 P.M. to Midnight. Holiday Hours are December 22 – January 10 with hours from 12:00 P.M. to Midnight.

Celebrate the holidays with a cherished Southern Nevada tradition – the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village! The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland filled with millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, delicious food and endless holiday cheer.

For 26 years, we’ve Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory has decorated their 3-acre cactus garden for the holidays with over one million lights for the public to enjoy!
This ‘gem in the desert’ is lit up every night until 10 pm and open to the public now through January 5, 2020, but closed on Christmas Day.

Every year Santa’s Wonderland transforms Bass Pro Shops into an immersive holiday experience with rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees.
The Christmas village offers remote control trucks, a Lincoln Logs building area, a laser arcade and a foam toy arcade. Families can also spend time at activity tables where they can write a letter to Santa and make Christmas decorations and handmade crafts to take home, all for free.
The highlight of Bass Pro Shops Santa’s Wonderland is a visit with the big guy himself. Families visiting Santa Claus receive a free 4 x 6 studio-quality photo and a custom Christmas video to share online with family and friends. Guests can schedule their Santa time using the free Bass Pass system.

Take a leisurely stroll in the park day or night in Mystic Falls Park® at Sam’s Town. Relax to the sound of a rolling waterfall, complemented by the soft chirping of birds in live trees reaching up toward the skylight 10 stories above.
The attraction features a Winter Wonderland theme and holiday-inspired laser light show, available daily from now until to Jan. 1.
The light show starts at 5 P.M. daily. Santa visits will be 4 – 8:30 P.M. Thu.- Fri. and Noon – 8:30 P.M. Sat.-Sun. until Dec. 23 and admission is free.

During the week, Monday through Wednesday, carolers spread the spirit of the season by singing holiday hits from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.a For Thursday through Sunday – a modern twist on the classic – T’was the Night Before Christmas – dance spectacular delights revelers at the top of every hour, also from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.

Celebrate that special time of year in Las Vegas as Holiday at The Park returns with lights, food, and live entertainment.
Featuring holiday decorations, an 80-foot tree on Toshiba Plaza, strolling carolers, and special dining experiences for the season, MGM Resorts invites guests to visit for all the festivities.
Holiday at The Park will be open 5 P.M. to 10 P.M. daily, with select extended hours for special events.

People of all ages can visit the Silverton’s Underwater Santa on Saturdays and Sundays in December and tell Santa what they want for Christmas.
The aquarium is free to the public. Bring the kids and take lots of pictures of the Underwater Santa and his elves. Santa is equipped with a microphone that allows him to listen to and speak with children.
Sessions are from noon to 1:15 P.M. and from 2:15 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. The last performance will be on December 23.

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is the season-ending championship event for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and is widely acknowledged to be the world’s premier rodeo.
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings determine qualifications to compete in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding.

Climb aboard the Springs Preserve’s Holiday Express and be whisked away on a magical train ride to Santa’s village. Your very merry adventure includes personal time with Santa in his cottage, festive crafts, cookie decorating, story time, reindeer games, “snow” (yes, snow!) and more.
It’s a family-fun winter wonderland with multiple departures each day, every half-hour from 2 to 6 p.m. on Fridays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all other event days.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time to ensure all guests have checked-in and boarded prior to train departure. Trains depart promptly at the listed tour start time. The Springs Preserve Holiday Express experience is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Each year the Las Vegas Great Santa Run attracts thousands of runners and walkers from all over including families, businesses, individuals and global tourists to downtown Las Vegas.
This is the biggest gathering of Santa’s in the world. Your registration includes a five-piece Santa suit, a finishers medal, a swag bag and the opportunity to experience an amazing event.
Entertainment begins at 8:00 a.m. on December 7th at the 3rd Street stage.
The Las Vegas Great Santa Run is an important fundraiser for Opportunity Village, and all proceeds directly benefit the programs and services provided at Opportunity Village.

Enjoy “America’s Party”, a New Year’s Eve celebration like you’ll never have again in your life.
In 2013’s NYE celebration there were more than 80,000 fireworks, set off from 7 roof-top firing locations (Aria, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Stratosphere, TI, and the Venetian), lasting over 8 minutes.
