Christmas is no exception. The holiday season is actually a great time to visit Las Vegas and this year most resorts are promoting socially-distanced Christmas family fun.
Things to do in Las Vegas in December are plentiful but few cities beat Las Vegas for Christmas, especially with kids.

Glittering Lights Display
Holiday festivities in Las Vegas begin as Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway welcomes thousands of annual visitors to take a 2.5-mile drive through the light course nightly from now until January 9, 2022.
Glittering Lights is presented by Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing is open for the holiday season. Get your tickets at glitteringlights.vegas or pay at the gate!
The hours of operation are Sunday – Thursday 5:30 P.M.- 9:00 P.M. and Friday – Saturday from 5:00 P.M. – 10:00 P.M.

Magical Forest at Opportunity Village
Celebrate the holidays with a cherished Southern Nevada tradition – the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village! Now open until – January 2, but closed on Christmas Day. Open nightly at 5:30 to 9 P.M.
The Magical Forest is a winter wonderland filled with millions of sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, delicious food and endless holiday cheer.

The Ice Rink
Each holiday season, Boulevard Pool at Cosmopolitan is transformed into an ice-skating rink. Experience a winter wonderland above The Las Vegas Strip with ice skating, fire pits, warm cocktails, s’mores and breathtaking views.
At The Ice Rink, you can skate across 4,200 square feet of real ice, roast s’mores by the fire, and indulge in seasonal food and beverage offerings.

Ethel M’s Holiday Cactus Garden
For 28 years, we’ve Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory has decorated their 3-acre cactus garden for the holidays with over one million lights for the public to enjoy!
This ‘gem in the desert’ is lit up every night from 5 pm to 10 pm and open to the public now through January 2, 2022, but closed on Christmas Day.
Grab your camera and your friends and come enjoy a holiday experience in the desert like no other!

Santa’s Wonderland at the Bass Pro Shops
Every year Santa’s Wonderland transforms Bass Pro Shops into an immersive holiday experience with rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees.
The highlight of Bass Pro Shops Santa’s Wonderland is a visit with the big guy himself. Families visiting Santa Claus receive a free 4 x 6 studio-quality photo and a custom Christmas video to share online with family and friends. Guests can schedule their Santa time using the free Bass Pass system.

Sam’s Town Mystic Falls Park
Take a leisurely stroll in the park day or night in Mystic Falls Park® at Sam’s Town. Relax to the sound of a rolling waterfall, complemented by the soft chirping of birds in live trees reaching up toward the skylight 10 stories above.

Holiday Magic at the LINQ Promenade
The LINQ Promenade is a colorful, magical winter wonderland with candy-themed décor, whimsical shows and a nightly snowfall that is complete with the scent of fresh cut pines. This popular outdoor entertainment district’s Holiday Magic takes place through Dec. 31.
During the week, Monday through Wednesday, carolers spread the spirit of the season by singing holiday hits from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. For Thursday through Sunday – a modern twist on the classic – T’was the Night Before Christmas – dance spectacular delights revelers at the top of every hour, also from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.

Scuba Santa at the Silverton Aquarium
People of all ages can visit the Silverton’s Underwater Santa on Saturdays and Sundays in December and tell Santa what they want for Christmas.
The aquarium is free to the public. Bring the kids and take lots of pictures of the Underwater Santa and his elves. Santa is equipped with a microphone that allows him to listen to and speak with children.
Sessions are from noon to 1:15 P.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. The last performance will be on December 23.

The Mint 400
The Mint 400 is the oldest and most prestigious off-road race in America, and is typically held each March in the treacherous foothills of Sin City. However, this year it will be from December 1-5.
The multi-day event features a massive vehicle parade down the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, a two-day festival on historic Fremont Street, and two days of grueling off-road racing on a desolate and punishing 400-mile racecourse.
Racers compete in 21 different classes of race vehicles across 400 miles of Nevada desert for a chance to win the Mint 400 Class Championship.
All events on Fremont Street beginning Wednesday, December 1st are free and open to the general public!
Las Vegas Great Santa Run
Each year, the Las Vegas Great Santa Run attracts thousands of runners and walkers from all over the world to Downtown Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Great Santa Run is also going virtual! Join thousands of Santa’s as they complete their 5K or 1-mile distance from anywhere in the country. All proceeds benefit the programs and services at Opportunity Village.
In addition to being the most fun you’ll ever have wearing a five-piece Santa suit, this event is one of Opportunity Village’s most important fundraisers, with all proceeds benefiting the programs and services for over 3,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southern Nevada.

Wrangler National Finals Rodeo
The Wrangler NFR will be held at the Thomas & Mac Center from December 2 to 11. NFR is the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the world and an event like no other, an extravaganza for fans to enjoy the roping and riding activity of today’s cowboys.
It is the culmination of the rodeo season where the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding compete to take home top honors and their share of a multi-million dollar purse.

Cowboy Christmas
The 34th anniversary of the Roper Cowboy Christmas takes place at Las Vegas Convention Center South Halls during the National Finals Rodeo from December 2-11. This has been a Las Vegas tradition since 1986.
The Cowboy Channel Cowboy Christmas features more than 500,000 square feet of show floor and more than 350 exhibitors from across the United States. Hundreds of Western Lifestyle Exhibitors in one place. You’ll find boots, buckets, hats, jewelry, and western wear.
Admission to the exhibit is FREE. Hours are 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. There will be hundreds of exhibitors to see some great products. You’ll also see some live demonstrations, free entertainment, and meet your favorite NFR superstars.

The Stetson Country Christmas Western Gift Expo is where the REAL Cowboys and Cowgirls shop in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo from December 2-12.
